The Dutch bake a delicious small raisin cake that serves four with coffee as a dessert, or simply as a treat in its own right.

The Dutch cut the little cake into slices and spread it with butter, candied sugar, and syrup - indeed a calorie-rich affair.

Ingredients:

1 lb (500 g) flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups (400 ml) milk
2 eggs
3/4 cup (150 g) raisins and currants
1 packet of vanilla sugar
a pinch of salt

Lavash – Traditional Armenian Bread

Armenian cuisine is quite popular with its traditional bread called lavash. It is flat, thin and soft bread that can be dried and kept for quite a long term. It is the most widespread bread in Armenia and no festive table can be imagined without lavash.

Lavash symbolizes life and wisdom. In ancient times, lavash was used during battles as it lasted long and saved the soldiers from starvation. Mothers cooked lavash, dried it and put in the bags of the soldiers.

French Crepe

Here’s a simple crepe recipe that can be made in a few minutes. Most importantly, it’s made from ingredients that most of you have at hand.
Ingredients:
·         1 cup flour
·         2 eggs
·         ½ cup milk
·         ½ cup water
·         ¼ teaspoon salt
·         2 tablespoons melted butter

Preparation:
1.       In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and the eggs. Gradually add in the milk and water, stirring to combine. Afterwards add salt and butter beating until it becomes smooth.

French Soup: Soupe au Pistou


Every traditional menu begins with a soup; it’s for this reason that one of France’s first gourmets said that a soup was to a meal what a beautiful entrance hall was to a house. 

You’ll need:
125 g fresh haricot beans
2 baby carrots
2 small leeks
125 g green beans
1 small zucchini
3 tomatoes
50 g vermicelli

Brownie Cheesecake


This chocolate brownie cheesecake combines both chocolate and cheesecake. It’s a perfect cheesecake, which you’ll make as often as you can.

8 oz. brownie mix
16 oz. cream cheese, softened
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Long Island cocktail


The Long Island Iced Tea is the basis of many mixed-drinks. It dates to the 70’s and is named after the USA’s largest island Long Island. Though the cocktail doesn’t contain tea, it has a taste similar to tea. This cocktail is in the top 5 of most popular cocktails.

For 1 portion of Long Island you’ll need:

  • 1 part vodka
  • 1 part tequila
  • 1 part rum
  • 1 part gin
  • 1 part triple sec (strong, sweet and colorless orange flavored liqueur)
  • 1 ½ parts sweet and sour mix (a blend of lemon juice and syrup and is available at most liqueur stores)1 splash Coca-Cola

6 squares semi-sweet chocolate
6 squares unsweetened chocolate
7 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup butter
 2 cups white sugar
 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
 6 squares semisweet chocolate
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1 package frozen raspberries, thawed
3 tablespoons seedless raspberry preserves
